First Texas Homes, a production builder, has introduced a new smart home technology standard, tapping Savant as its key partner.
Savant just made the announcement about the partnership that started this summer, which provides built-in home automation and control in all new production homes.
First Texas Homes are being pre-wired with structured wiring and include a Savant Smart Host, Pro Remote and Savant Metropolitan lighting, as well as an integration with Ecobee thermostats, Linear garage door openers, Honeywell security systems and cameras. Homebuyers are also able to choose from several upgrade options from First Texas Homes’ integration partner, HomePro.
“HomePro is thrilled to bring Savant into our 15-plus year partnership with First Texas Homes,” said Ross Theriault, vice president of sales at HomePro. “We look forward to enhancing our buyer’s lifestyles by integrating this level of automation into every First Texas home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.”
These upgraded options offered by HomePro include the ability to integrate media rooms, extend distributed audio zones throughout the entire home and add additional monitoring devices such as additional cameras.
This decision should be a rallying call for other builders that the time is now to offer a comprehensive standard package as a way to appeal to new homebuyers. “First Texas Homes’ partnership with Savant is an opportunity for us to provide built in home automation to our customers as a standard feature,” says Keith Hardesty, division president at First Texas Homes. “Empty Nesters, Baby Boomers and Millennials will all appreciate the benefits and ease of the home automation experience.”
Savant has become standard in all three lines under the First Texas Homes portfolio: First Texas Homes, Gallery Custom Homes and Hardwood Homes.
