Hundreds of high-volume, multifamily and luxury builders make progress transforming their businesses with home tech and tech solutions.
Produced at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, MD from Dec. 9-11, the 2019 TecHome Builder Summit drove extraordinary progress on tech for 200+ highly engaged homebuilders, connecting them with 130 innovative tech sponsors across a broad range of product and solutions categories and tuning them into trends, opportunities and challenges via a powerful program of general session content. 2019 also marked the introduction of the NEW Marketing and Sales Solutions track, which provided a full scope of digital marketing and sales automation tools to help builders maximize homebuyer engagement and accelerate sales velocity.
The guests at the Summit were treated to personalized vendor engagements, best practice sharing and visioning of an increasingly bright and broad future of the TecHome. Builder guests represented 158 unique companies, $100+ billion in aggregate annual revenue and 227,000 homes built in 2019. Aggregate revenues represented by guests grew an astounding $20 billion, or 25 percent, vs. 2018!
Summit guests each participated in a program with content and sponsors tailored specifically to their needs, including targeted meetings with manufacturers, services and solution providers, participation in roundtable groups with peers and general sessions from industry experts on topics such as the hottest home tech products, health and wellness trends in homebuilding and keys to selling tech to homebuyers in multiple environments.
The rich content was once again highlighted by the keynote address: Future Technologies and Emerging Tech Trends. Tim Costello, BDX President/CEO, delivered yet another amazing keynote, which captured interest and inspired guests and sponsors alike.
Here is just some of what guests had to say about the 2019 Summit:
“First time attendee and I left feeling like I now have a real understanding of Tech and how it currently fits into our home building world. Also, a good sense of how other builders are adopting tech and what tech is available. Educational aspect was top notch.”
“Excellent content, speakers, presentations, research, trade show, and break-out sessions. It’s run/managed professionally and the quality of the small groups and one on ones are invaluable.”
“I think the Summit is a good way to gather a lot of information in a short timeframe and would recommend it to someone looking to catch up on their tech strategy.”
“I enjoyed the entire event. It was great to get to know people from around the United States and the different ways they do things.”
“Thank you so much for having me at this conference! My colleague and I both came back to our teams with glowing reviews. We are energized!”
“We really enjoyed stepping out of our usual lane and having discussions/exposure to brands and products that we aren’t usually in front of…saw one product we had initially deemed ‘for our Marketing team’ and turns out, our Director of Construction got super pumped realizing how it could impact his Design and Architecture team during Due Diligence.”
“I thought this was such a great experience and would highly recommend it. Researching new products and technologies can be a very daunting process. The TecHome conference took the research and spinning of wheels out – great structure and information to help implement what is best for our projects and company.”
The 2019 Summit also featured an outstanding lineup of sponsoring companies. There were 130 vendors representing the best in all areas of the TecHome, including home automation, electronics/AV, security, lighting & electrical, kitchen/bath/laundry tech, smart HVAC/IAQ, smart water, smart building products and digital marketing and selling solutions.
These companies invested in 15 general session presentations to large groups, 144 small group boardroom presentations and 3,000+ one-on-one meetings. The scheduled and guaranteed aspect of these deep engagements is what separates the TecHome Builder Summit from other industry events and provides a clear return on investment.
Feedback from sponsors highlights the fact that this Summit is truly an event designed to deliver business wins:
“You had important builders that were real influencers in the company. Great group of people to get good leads from.”
“The one on one meetings were great. We had excellent dialogue with the builders and felt that both Hi-Volume and Multi-Fam were our sweet spots, which was important to us to determine.”
“The event is among the top 2-3 events I’ve attended if I rank them by ‘quality prospect conversation per hours invested’”
“I am not always outspoken about this event. Very much a fan of what your team produces. Not only the event, but the interaction to my team.”
“The one to one meetings. Much better than trying to drag someone into our booth like we do at other shows.”
“High quality attendees and guaranteed meetings. What else could you want.”
The first of two 2020 TecHome Builder Summits will be held May 4-6 at Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL. This will be followed by the Fall Summit being held December 1-3 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.
