Two hundred-plus top-notch builder and developers, representing more than $55 billion in annual revenue, gathered in Fort Worth, Texas for the third annual TecHome Builder Summits.
From December 7 to 9, luxury, high-volume and multifamily builders found themselves within an immersion of technology through:
- Boardroom presentations on the latest home technologies.
- One-on-one meetings with tech-focused manufacturing companies.
- Networking events that bring together groups from different areas of the country to connect, learn and ultimately improve their tech strategies at their respective businesses.
- Educational sessions led by industry leading panelists.
- A unique awards program to honor industry pioneers.
A Co-Located Community
One of the more exciting elements about this year’s event is the fact that this was the first year where TecHome Builder’s Luxury, HiVol and Multifamily summits were all co-located under one roof at the Omni Fort Worth Convention Center.
This shared space undoubtedly united similarly-minded industry professionals from non-competing markets. Through a hosted-style concept, the TecHome Builder Summits covered the travel and accommodations for 200-plus VIP-level guests, giving them the chance to network with top manufacturers and service providers.
The nearly 100 TecHome Builder HiVol guests built an average of 2,343 homes and more than 150,000 in aggregate in 2015. Annual revenues average $676 million and total $46 billion.
TecHome Builder Multifamily guests built more than 45,000 units in 2015 with revenues of nearly $10 billion.
And TecHome Builder LUX guests total nearly $900 million in 2015 revenues!
Major names among these VIP guests included Ashton Woods, D.R. Horton, Lennar, PulteGroup, Whitestone Builders, Alliance Residential and Bozzuto Homes.
Additionally, top sponsoring companies included ADT, Aprilaire, Control4, Danver Stainless Outdoor Kitchen, Lutron, Nexia, Remote Technologies, Inc. and Savant Systems.The decision makers of the aforementioned companies and sponsors had the chance to interact via boardroom sessions and one-on-one meetings. This intimate model allowed these professionals to do business that could otherwise get lost amidst the chaos of a busy show floor.
After hours, guests also had the opportunity to network and mingle with colleagues and sponsors during receptions and a club crawl.
Executive Education Program
In addition to meetings, boardrooms and networking events, the TecHome Builder Summits offered attendees an impressive Executive Program of educational sessions and roundtables.
This year’s Executive Program featured an extensive range of hot tech topics—teched-out tiny apartments, virtual tours, 2025 futurism, dealing with DIY, creating that “Wow” factor and marketing strategies for appealing to distinct demographics, to name a few.

Honoring the Industry’s Brilliance
What would an illustrious event like the TecHome Builder Summits be without a few awards?
This year’s event marked the debut of the TecHome Brilliance Awards, an awards program aimed at honoring standout home technology products, services, homes and communities that deserve the industry’s attention and represent the future of the TecHome.
“An awards program like the Brilliance Awards is an excellent way to facilitate and honor this industry’s accelerating rate of change,” says one of the judges. “It opens people’s eyes to new products, projects, communities and more. It also helps to honor the industry pioneers that are driving this growth.”
